Current topics in renal tumours in children: role of the paediatric surgeon

The surgical treatment of malignant renal tumours in children (nephroblasto mas) is part of a multimodal therapeutic strategy, defined by the Internati onal Society of Paediatric Oncology protocol. Resection of the primary tumo ur and determination of the postoperative stage determine subsequent treatm ent.
