Ra. Khisamutdinov et al., Platinum(IV) extraction by N,N '-dipentylethylenediamine-N '-thiocarbaldehyde from hydrochloric acid solutions, RUSS J IN C, 46(3), 2001, pp. 446-449
Platinum(IV) extraction by dipentylethylenediamine-N'-thiocarbaldehyde (L)
from HCl solutions at 25 degreesC was studied. An extraction equilibrium is
found to be established within one minute. Platinum(IV) ions are extracted
from 0.1 M HCl solutions (with toluene or chloroform as a diluent) by an a
nion-exchange-solvation mixed mechanism in the form of a mixture of complex
es (LH+)(2)[PtCl6](2-) and trans-PtCl4(L . HCl)(2). Apparent extraction con
stants were determined. Changes in the thermodynamic functions of extractio
n were calculated from the temperature dependences.
