A review of geoid models over the British Isles: Progress and proposals

The history of published geoid determination for the British Isles over the last fifty years is reviewed. This includes global geopotential models, ta ilored geopotential models. British gravimetric geoid models, and European gravimetric geoid models that cover the British Isles. Proposals are made f or a collaborative venture to produce a new geoid model using the most rece nt data and computational techniques.
