Abstract
Laparoscopic reconstructive techniques will be more widely practiced if rel iable alternatives to conventional tedious and time-consuming laparoscopic suturing techniques are available. This article reviews the recent advances made in finding such alternatives. Improvements and limitations of automat ed suturing devices, tissue adhesives, and microstaples are discussed.
