Scattering of an arbitrary probe beam by a set of holographic gratings
formed by photoinduced light scattering (PILS) and holographic-type p
arametric scattering (HTPS) in a Lithium tantalate crystal is studied.
A new kind of diffraction in photorefractive media, the anisotropic '
'Venetian blind'' diffraction effect involving gratings formed by o-o-
type PILS, is observed. This diffraction is shown to be a suitable ins
trument for studying dynamic and statistical properties of holographic
gratings formed in a crystal.
