Abstract
The chiral cluster [ eta (5)-C5H4C(O)CH2CH2C(O)OCH3] RuCoW (mu (3)-Se) (CO) (8) (C18H11O11 CoRuSeW, M-r = 826.08) was synthesized by the thermal reacti on of the precursor (mu (3)-Se) RuCo2 (CO)(9) with the functional substitut ed cyclopentadienyl tricarbonyl metal complex anion [W(CO)(3) (eta (5)-C5H4 C(O)CH2CH2 (O)OCH3)](-) in THF. It was characterized by C!H elemental analy sis, IR and H-1 NMR. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction was carried out t o obtain the crystal data: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, a = 7.725(2), b = 21. 880(4), c = 13.416(3) Angstrom, beta = 91.93(3)degrees; V = 2266.4(8 ) Angstrom (3), Z = 4, D-c = 2.421mg/m(3), F(000) = 1544, mu = 8.107 mm(-1) , the final R = 0.0816 and wR = 0.2206 for 3506 observations with (I > 2 si gma (I)).
