E-commerce - Technologies and applications: Global initiatives

Recognising the potential of E-Commerce, a range of technology developments and business Pilot Projects were initiated from 1995 onwards in various st ages in USA, Europe, Japan, etc. In this paper, we have tried to capture an d analyse some of the major initiatives to draw parallel for India. Attempt has been made to classify them in certain selected heads through a matrix analysis which brings out the common denominator of such initiatives in USA ,Japan and European Union.
