Point relascope sampling - A new way to assess downed coarse woody debris

This article presents a practical review of one of two recently developed m ethods for sampling downed coarse woody debris in forest stands. The method discussed here, point relascope sampling, is closely related to the famili ar horizontal point sampling and this relationship is demonstrated througho ut. Formulas, worked examples, and guidelines for the field implementation of the technique are presented.
