Numerous public and private forestry organizations in Oregon work in educat
ional partnership. Through its extension program, Oregon State University p
rovides educational leadership statewide through more than 25 faculty membe
rs who collectively implement goals resulting from a comprehensive strategi
c planning process. New annual initiatives emerge from needs-based assessme
nts that frequently use innovative tools and strategies leading to durable
core programs. Sustainable forestry on private land continues to be a major
goal through development of new policies and organizations.
