Abstract
Despite their short warning times (seconds to tens of seconds) earthquake e arly warning systems can become useful tools in risk mitigation provided th eir design is robust and utilizes the regional tectonics. Bucharest can ser ve as a good example for such a system with a warning time of 25 seconds. I ntegration of early warning into real-time information systems turns out be ing crucial in disaster management.
