Abstract
We have grown KGd(WO4)(2):Yb3+ single crystal by the top nucleated floating crystal (TNFC) method. The spectroscopic characterization has been perform ed (absorption and fluorescence) for the two orthogonal polarizations corre sponding to the axis of the optical indicatrix for light propagation along the b-axis.
