Nv. Pechenova et al., EPT microstructure and its effect on properties of EPT vulcanizates and covulcanizates with SKI-3, POLYM SCI A, 43(3), 2001, pp. 294-299
The microstructure of the EPT series was studied by IR spectroscopy and dif
ferential scanning calorimetry. It was shown that, as the content of ethyle
ne units increases, the content of long methylene sequences and the amount
of the copolymer structural defects due to the inverse attachment of propyl
ene units increase as well. This results in improved physicomechanical prop
erties of the EPT with high content of ethylene units. The method of therma
l mechanical analysis was applied to study the dependence of the elastic pr
operties of SKI-3/EPT binary blends on their composition.
