A new kind of double-disk gold targets were irradiated by 0.35 mum intense
laser and the properties of improved X-ray spectra were investigated at "Xi
ngguang" laser facilities. Collision velocities between the primary and sec
ondary disks' plasmas have been measured. This double-disk target's design
has avoided the influence of the spraying plasma from primary disk to a cer
tain extent, and increased the "clearance" for ablated secondary disk. Two
soft X-ray spectrometers were used to measure X-ray radiation from the prim
ary and secondary disks, respectively. An X-ray streaked camera was used to
obtain time-spactial images emitted from laser-plasma of double-disks targ
ets. Experimental results were analyzed physically.
