Mammals from the Arroyo Chasico Formation (Late Miocene), Buenos Aires Province, in the "JC Moyano" Museum of Mendoza

MAMMALS FROM THE ARROYO CHASICO FORMATION (LATE MIOCENE), BUENOS AIRES PROV INCE, IN THE "J.C. MOYANO" MUSEUM OF MENDOZA. Several undescribed mammal re mains from the Arroyo Chasico Formation, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, were found in the paleontological collection of the Museo de Ciencias Natur ales Antropologicas "Juan Cornelio Moyano", Mendoza, Argentina. These speci mens represent four families of the orders Xenarthra, Notoungulata, and Lit opterna, and provide new data on this typical fauna of Chasicoan age. This material also furnishes the first evidence of protherotheriid litopterns in the Chasico fauna.
