Abstract
Direct analysis of nitric oxide (NO) has been a difficult task owing to its instability and low concentration in tissues.' However, a new selective fl uorescent indicator, diaminofluoresceins (DAF-2), enabled the direct detect ion of NO under physiologic conditions.(2,3) This study was performed to cl arify the acute effect of red wine, ethanol, and polyphenol on the producti on of NO and oxidative stress in healthy subjects.
