Abstract
in order to test whether the boundary field theory entropy reflects Misner string bulk contributions, the effective actions (functional determinants) for scalars and spinors on the squashed 3-sphere identified under the actio n of a cyclic group, Z(m), are determined. Especially in the extreme oblate squashing limit, which has a thermodynamic interpretation, the high-temper ature behaviour is found as a function of m. Although the intermediate deta ils for odd and even m are different, the final answers are the same. A the rmodynamic interpretation for spinors is possible only for twisted periodic ity conditions and m even.
