Fuzzy mapping of requirements onto functions in detail design

In detail design of mechanical components, the component requirements and f eature related functions must be known prior to feature design. The feature related functions should be obtained from the component requirements. In t his paper, the mapping from requirements into functions is considered as a fuzzy relation system. Two mapping problems from different viewpoints are p resented. The fuzzy logic methodology is also employed to form the measures of both requirements and feature related functions.
