This paper deals with the developments of mathematical methods For tire dis
cretization of continuous models and the solution of nonlinear problems of
interest in applied sciences. The contents refer to developments of the dif
ferential quadrature method which leads to the so-called generalized colloc
ation methods. The method is developed and applied to tile solution of init
ial-boundary value problems. The computational problems are technically sol
