Nn. Lebedeva et al., Investigation of brain potentials in sleeping humans exposed to the electromagnetic field of mobile phones, CR R BIOMED, 29(1), 2001, pp. 125-133
An investigation was made of 8-hour EEG tracings of sleeping humans exposed
to the electromagnetic field of a GSM-standard mobile phone. To analyze th
e EEG-patterns, manual scoring, nonlinear dynamics, and spectral analysis w
ere employed. It was found that, when human beings were exposed to the elec
tromagnetic field of a cellular phone, their cerebral cortex biopotentials
revealed an increase in the alpha -range power density as compared to the p
lacebo experiment. It was also found that the dimension of EEG correlation
dynamics and the relation of sleep stages changed under the influence of th
e electromagnetic field of a mobile phone.
