Abstract
Fetal pulse oximetry has undergone a remarkable evolution since its concept ion over 10 years ago. A number of important observations, including the re cent publication of a large randomized clinical trial, have provided furthe r insight into our understanding of intrapartum fetal physiology and intrap artum fetal assessment. The purpose of this paper is to review significant developments in this technology over the past 2 years and to propose paths for future clinical research, Curr Opin Obstet Gynecol 13:133-136.
