Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the adult population. Numerou
s neuroprotective agents and procedures have been developed and a new wave
of therapies is now on the horizon with the potential to minimize ischemic
brain damage. On the other hand, surgical treatment has also played an impo

ces in stroke treatment, including surgical and neurointerventional radiolo
