Abstract
Self-assembled monolayer of ferrocenylundecanethiol (FeC11SH) on gold elect rode was used for the potential-dependent catalyst for chemiluminescence of luminol. Ferrocene head groups adsorbed on gold were oxidized to ferricini um cation species electrochemically and catalyzed the chemiluminescence of luminol. As the redox state of ferrocene group can be regulated by electrod e potential, chemiluminescence response can also be controlled electrochemi cally. The presented system was adopted for detection of glucose in the pre sence of glucose oxidase since the light emission was detected even in the neutral and weak acid solution.
