Abstract
A novel fourth-order cumulant based estimator for independent component ana lysis is presented. The severe performance loss of other estimators, when e ither the source kurtoses sum or the source kurtoses difference nears zero, is overcome. Comparative experimental results are provided to substantiate this statement.
