Abstract
In this paper, we evaluate the performance, in terms of bit-error rate , of 1- and 2- bit differential detectors for Gaussian minimum-shift k eying (GMSK) signals by using a very fast numerical technique which ma kes use of the saddle point approximation. Moreover, the performance o f each detector is optimized by using a closed-form expression of the optimum threshold in the slicer.
