A series of 3-alkyl-4-(arylmethyleneamino)-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-o
nes 2 were obtained and reduced with NaBH4 as a selective reducing agent to
afford 3-alkyl-4-(arylmethylamino)-4,5-dihydro-1 H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ones 3.
So 15 new compounds were synthesized and characterized by elemental analys
es, H-1 NMR, IR and UV spectra. Three of these compounds were-screened for
their antitumor activities.
