Abstract
The first 1,3-Re2Cl6(PR3)(2) type isomer has been obtained by the reaction of (n-Bu4N)(2)Re2Cl8 with the bidentate phosphine Fe(C5H4PPh2)(2) (dppf). T he complex Cl4ReReCl2(dppf) (1), which undergoes a reversible one-electron reduction with cobaltocene to afford [(eta (5)-C5H5)(2)Co][Re2Cl6(dppf), ha s a structure with a linear Re-Re-4 . . . Fe unit and an eclipsed rotationa l geometry.
