Abstract
The generalized Sturmian method for solving the many-electron Schrodinger e quation is reviewed. This method yields rapidly convergent solutions direct ly, without the use of the SCF approximation. As a simple illustrative exam ple, differential cross sections are calculated for inelastic scattering of fast electrons by atoms and ions in the 2-electron isoelectronic series.
