Abstract
Bicrystals of alumina with anorthite glass in the boundary were prepared by hot pressing. Annealing of the bicrystals leads to the migration of the in tergranular liquid to the free surface of the sample. It is proposed that t he migration is driven by the difference in the wetting behavior of the fre e surface and the boundary.
