An. Christensen et al., Investigation of the formation of cristobalite from the diatomaceous clay Moler using powder X-ray diffractometry data and profile refinement methods, J AM CERAM, 84(4), 2001, pp. 878-880
The formation of cristobalite from the diatomaceous clay moler was investig
ated ex situ in the temperature range 800 degrees -1200 degreesC using powd
er X-ray diffractometry and in situ in the temperature range 1000 degrees -
1100 degreesC using the same method. Profile analysis of the powder pattern
s was used to determine the quantity of beta -cristobalite in the in situ e
xperiments and the quantity of alpha -cristobalite in the ex situ experimen
ts.
