Abstract
The characteristics of the EAS electron-photon and muon components in showe rs with given sizes 10(5) less than or equal to Ne less than or equal to 10 (7) are obtained by the GAMMA installation at the Mt. Aragats (Armenia, 700 g/cm(2)). The analysis of data was carried out having in mind the differen t explanations about the nature of the knee.
