Abstract
The paper is devoted to the application of a rigorous approach for analyzin g the evanescent wave scattering by sensor tip near a plane surface. On the basis of the discrete sources method a numerical schemes was developed and implemented in computer program. Numerical results related to the influenc e of the position of the sensor tip on the scattering characteristics are d iscussed. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
