Abstract
Flash vacuum pyrolysis (FVP) of linear [S]phenylene affords its angular cou nterpart and the same mixture of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon isomers as that observed on RIP of angular [3]phenylene, A mechanism, supported by a C-13 labeling study, is proposed to explain these results.
