Abstract
[GRAPHICS] The synthesis of two fully conjugated, rigid macrocyclic analogues to 4,4'- bipyridine is described. The use of these macrocycles in self assembly proc esses is demonstrated by axial coordination to metalloporphyrins, and one s ystem (R = Me) has been characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallograp hy.
