Abstract
A series of N-(5-phthalimidopentanoyl)-, N-[2-(2-ethoxy)acetyl]-, and N-(7- oxooctanoyl)-phosphuno and phosphinoalanine derivatives has been synthesize d and evaluated for inhibition of the D-glutamic acid-adding enzyme (MurD) of peptidoglycan biosynthesis.
