What is new in venous surgery

The aim of this article is to discuss recent developments in the management of venous disease. A literature search was done of English language journa ls from 1995 to 2000 to identify articles that discussed new innovations. I n addition, the proceedings of specialist meetings were reviewed to include opinions of experts leading the field of venous practice. The article disc usses the use of noninvasive investigations, thermal ablation of varicose v eins, the economics of superficial and deep venous disease and the possible changes that might occur in the future management of patients with venous disease.
