Abstract
A kaempferide triglycoside has been found as a constitutive component in an uninfected carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus) of the cultivar Novada. The c hemical structure has been determined mainly by the use of spectroscopic me thods, including 2D NMR experiments. It showed a strong activity in restric ting fungal parasite development, which could contribute to the known abili ty of carnation cv. Nevada to resist to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. dianthi i nfection. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
