Abstract
This paper describes a simple blasting cap test that furnishes information on sensitivity to initiation as well as rudimentary information on propagat ion. The design of the test provides containment of most condensed-Phase re sidues and explosion reaction products while minimizing noise pollution. We include comparison between test results and thermochemical hazard predicti ons determined by calculation of the adiabatic reaction temperature (CART).
