Sorption properties of the fibrous sorbent based on polyacrylonitrile modif
ied with thiosemicarbazide (GLIPAN-1) with respect to K-2[PdC4] and PdSO4.
2H(2)O were compared. Special attention was paid to determination of the co
mposition of complexes in the phase of the fibrous sorbent depending of the
composition of the initial complex and sorption conditions. Nonempirical H
artree-Fock calculations of methylthiosemicarbazide with complete optimizat
ion of the compound geometry were performed. This allowed estimation of the
reactivity of donor atoms of the thiosemicarbazide group participating in
formation of palladium(TI) complexes with the polymeric ligand.
