Abstract
Condensation of 2-hydroxyethylhydrazine with 2-acetyl-, 2-phenylacetyl-, an d 2-benzoylbenzoic and alpha -oxoglutaric acids yields 1-hydroxyethylpyrida zin-6-one derivatives. The hydroxy group in 2-hydroxyethylphthalazin-1-ones can readily be acetylated and phosphorylated.
