Abstract
Background: Based on sequence similarities, Ad-like (ARL) proteins have bee n assigned to the Ad subfamily of the superfamily of Ras-related GTP bindin g proteins. They have been identified in several isoforms in a wide variety of species. Their cellular function is unclear, but they are proposed to r egulate intracellular transport.
