The isomeric structure of tile N = 77 isotones Tb-142(65) and Ho-144(67) ha
ve been studied with the Mo-92(Fe-54, xpn) fusion evaporation reaction at t
ile University of Jyvaskyla. The Jurospehere II germanium array was employe
d in conjunction with the RITU gas filled recoil separator. The feeding and
decay of a 500(20) ns isomeric state in Ho-144 have been established for t
he first time together with states built upon the known 15 mus isomer in Tb
-142. The behavior of these new structures above the isomers suggest that t
hey are low deformation configurations which display signs of triaxiality.
