Abstract
A single-step synthesis of inorganic microcapsules filled with organic liqu ids or polymers is achieved by complexation of cationic surfactant-stabiliz ed miniemulsion latexes with disc shaped silica particles. interlinking the discs by condensation with silicic acid further stabilizes the capsules. T he structure survives depolymerization and evaporation of a polymeric organ ic template. The Figure shows hollow nanocapsules. [GRAPHICS]
