Cationic amphiphilic drugs from different pharmacological groups, i.e. prop
ranolol, alprenolol, metipranolol and chloroquine, were found to significan
tly: decrease the activity of stimulated blood platelet phospholipase A in
vitro. In spits of the assumed phospholipidosis resulting from the inhibiti
on of phospholipases induced by cationic amphiphilic drugs, this effect, wh
ich might be responsible for inhibition of platelet aggregation, was consid
ered to be favourable.
