Abstract
In the past few years, there have been exciting advances in our understandi ng of the mechanisms that control morphogenesis in fucoid embryos. In this article we review recent findings from our laboratories concerning 1) polar ity establishment and expression in the zygote and 2) development of the zy gote into a multicellular embryo.
