2-Hydroxy-6-pentadecylbenzoic acid(1) 1,2-hydroxy-6-(8,11-pentadecadienyl)b
enzoic acid(2) 2 and 2-hydroxy-6-(8,11,14-pentadecatrienyl)benzoic acid(2)
3 have been isolated from the crude extracts of plants from Anacardiaceae f
amily by bioactive guided purification. Compound 1 has been isolated from p
et, ether extract of twigs of Rhus semialata and 2, 3 from CH2Cl2-MeOH (1:1
) extract of the dried pericarp of the fruits of Anacardium occidentale. Al
l the three compounds show good I kappaB alpha kinase inhibitory activity.
