Abstract
A new diterpene acid with the abietane skeleton, designated as centdaroic a cid, has been isolated besides seven other known compounds viz., alpha -atl antone, himachlol, alpha -amyrin acetate, lawsaritol, allohimachlol, oleano lic acid and centdarol from roots of Cedrus deodara. Characterisation and s tructure elucidation of these compounds has been made on the basis of their spectral analyses.
