Abstract
A crystal structure refinement of T*-phase LaHo0.75Sr0.25CuO3.89 was perfor med using neutron powder data (space group P4/nmm, Z=2, a=3.83890(5) Angstr om, c=12.5373(2) Angstrom, R-p=0.032, R-wp=0.041, R-1=0.037, R-F=0.037) foc using on the relationship between the oxygen vacancies and superconducting properties. Oxygen deficiency in the fluorite-like slab was established. Th is is in agreement with previously reported data about the absence of super conductivity in T*-phases having similar oxygen vacancy distributions. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
