Phase relations in the binary Ti-Ga system have been established experiment
ally by means of a study of alloy samples in the as-cast and annealed state
s. The alloys were prepared by arc melting. The investigation was carried o
ut using physico-chemical methods of analyses (metallography, X-ray powder
diffraction (XRD), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and electron probe m
icroanalysis (EPMA)) over a composition range 0-75 at.% Ga. The refined pha
se diagram of the Ti-Ga system is presented as a result of this study. (C)
