Abstract
We present absolute measurements of differential elastic electron scatterin g cross sections from benzene (C6H6) and hexafluorobenzene. (C6F6) The meas urements have been performed in our two laboratories on different crossed-b eam apparatuses for scattering angles between 10 degrees and 130 degrees. C 6H6 at the Australian National University in the energy range from 1.1 to 4 0 eV, and C6F6 at Sophia University from 1.5 to 100 eV. The cross sections for both molecules, which are characterized by strong forward-angle scatter ing and large-angle oscillations, are favourably compared with recent theor etical calculations.
