Abstract
Isolated clefting of the posterior mitral valve leaflet is an uncommon cong enital malformation. We report a case of cleft posterior mitral valve leafl et with counterclockwise papillary muscle malrotation. Similar abnormalitie s in papillary muscle position have been described in association with atri oventricular septal defect but have not been previously reported accompanyi ng isolated clefting of the posterior mitral valve leaflet.
